How easy is it to create professional looking, fully branded invoices?
Logo
Freshbooks allows you to easily upload your own logo. Simply browse thru you hard drive and upload your image. One limitation is that you cannot set the background header to white because the header fonts (which are in white) becomes invisible. You’ll need to tweak your design a bit to accommodate this limitation.
Color Templates
There are a lot of templates to choose from! This makes it very easy for you to match your systems’ color with your brand’s color scheme. You also have the flexibility to specify your HEX value – a must to get that perfect color match! This is critically important for a consistent branding. How To Get Your HEX Value.
- Open your image using PIXLR.com (Free) or other online editing tools.
- Grab the Color Picker tool and click the image whose color you want to get.
- Click your Color Foreground tool. You should now see your Color Value.
- Simply plug that value in the box in FreshBooks and you’ll have an exact color match.
Invoice Templates
You have 2 templates to choose from – Modern & Classic. This is not a lot if compared with the others, however they both do look elegant & professional. The modern one also has a tear-off payment stub at the bottom!
Emails
Emails can be easily configured. You simply modify your verbiage and insert variables (i.e Account Name), and all your emails will be customized automatically. While the overall email layout is professional enough, it is nothing great. This is typical of the other online invoices as well. Harvest seem to be the only one to pay enough attention to this. The appearance of naked links may be unpleasant for discerning customers.

Upon customization of your Logo & Template, all your invoices and email communications will be branded. Best of all, when clients view their online invoices, they will be greeted by your professionally customized login page.
